The challenge
A repair is more than a fill.
Small road defects are common, but the repair has to work in a demanding environment: changing weather, repeated traffic and imperfect site conditions. That makes material handling, placement and the interface with the existing road important questions.
This ARK project examines those questions together. The aim is to develop a repair format that is practical to handle in the field and worth testing rigorously before wider use.

Study how a repair kit could reduce preparation and handling steps while remaining clear and repeatable for the person using it.
Repair integrity
Test how the repair meets the existing pavement and behaves under real traffic and weather conditions.

Black Mamba
A coiled road-repair concept being explored as part of the pavement-repair system. Its material format and role in the field are still being developed.
Concept 02
WorsPot
A modular repair-material concept in the same research programme. ARK is developing and assessing how the components could work together in the field.
Where the work stands
From concept to evidence.
The project has design and technical documentation in progress. The next meaningful steps are material development, prototype assessment and field evidence.
ARK will describe measured performance when testing supports it. For now, this is an R&D project.
